R.I.P Jack

January 24, 2011 By Bill 20 Comments

I was driving to my PT clinic this morning when I heard the news that Jack Lalanne died.

I’ve never met Jack, but he may have been the inspiration for my involvement in the fitness industry.

I remember watching his TV show as kid.  At the age of 56, when fitness wasn’t even a concern for most folks, Jack was on every afternoon teaching the benefits of exercise and healthy eating.  Dressed in his V-tapered jumpsuit and ballet slippers using only a chair and occasionally some rubber tubing, he inspired Americans take care of their bodies.

Jack alway led by example.  He proved that age is truly a state of mind.

The younger crowd may know Jack as the juicer guy, but those of us who’ve been around a while will remember Jack as one of the leaders of our industry and our first true fitness guru.

R.I.P. Jack… you will be missed

You have to earn your way into the 16%. To do so, we must think differently. Fitness training is young and indecisive. Rehab is stagnating. Strength & Conditioning is being stifled by tradition and confusion. It's time to do the work necessary to improve or join the average.

Success! We are now accepting mentorship applications. Please see the link on the professional mentorship page.
